The Current Affairs Project
You have 6 weeks in which to create a newspaper about a news
topic of your choice.
You will research an issue that is currently in the news and
create a newspape which explain the story
in detail, presenting the issues from different perspectives.
The writing will be in your own words, not simply copied and
pasted from another source. Issues you might consider include:
- The war on terrorism
- British politics
- The European Union
- University tuition fees
- Violence in video games
- Crime
- Drugs
Sports news and gossip are not acceptable for this project.
The stages you will go through in this project are (click on
each one for more detail)
- Researching the information
- Producing a newspaper aimed at adults
- Evaluating Your Work
Strong students will produce well-researched newspapers that
explore issues in detail and consider all sides of any arguments
fairly. The papers will be well-laid out, reflecting good use
of the computer.
