3 - Spreadsheet Modelling and System Design

Now that you have learned a range of skills using Excel for creating spreadsheet models, it is time to put them to use creating a business system.

A system is designed to:

  • Have data like sales figures input
  • Process the data, e.g. calculate total sales
  • Output useful information such as a graph showing sales trends

A system has very clear input, processing and output.

Systems are designed to help people make decisions for the future, using reliable and clear information.
