Writing Your Letter
Make sure that you include your address and the date clearly
at the top right. You should include your MP's name and address
at the top left. Consider using text boxes to help with layout.
Keep paragraphs fairly short - perhaps no more than 4-5 sentences.
New paragraphs should not be indented. Try to start a new paragraph
when you are focusing on a new point.
Don't let sentences get too long.
Keep your language polite and formal. Slang should not be used.
Select an appropriate font and font size.
If you are going to quote anybody, make sure you indicate the
name of the person.
Use the spelling and grammar checkers to help eliminate errors
but you must also proof-read your work carefully
as the computer's tools aren't perfect.
